Part of my research involves developing the open source finite element library collection FEniCS, which is a cross-language Python/C++ system. My main role in this project is as the main developer of UFL, a domain specific language embedded in Python for expressing and symbolically manipulating partial differential equations, as well as developing code generation tools translating from symbolic representation to efficient C++ kernels which is plugged into C++ code. I'm working both with pure Python code and with cross-language Python/C++ code, writing library code and my own end-user scripts on top.

A programmer/scientist, currently in a Post Doc position at Simula Research Laboratory. I've been programming half my life, have a PhD in scientific computing from UiO/Simula, and worked in TANDBERG (now Cisco) for a while.
