Adam, I am coming down with a cold. As much as I'd like to attend, I can't. I hope you will have another session soon.

Recenty I enjoyed digesting Deleuze abd Guattari. Its approach related to ' social deconstruction and the historicity involved in the revolt of 1969 in Frace was a total marcelous angle. The movie ' dreamers' conveyed it with a reach cinematography dialect.

Hi, I think I saw part of 'Dreamers' but didn't like it much. I thought it was a little too self-indulgent - Bertolucci maybe, was it? I also don't think it captured the chaos of the time, where, in some sense May '68 was pretty unplanned and diverse. Deleuze and Guattari would be a good discussion, though. Don't think I understood it.

It would be a pleasure to dismantle Deleuze and Guattari if the conversation pop up in one if these meetups! Sheers..

Just wanted to say how much I missed everyone - although I'm sure it's not equally reciprocated. lol. Without all of you I would have hung myself having to live in Ottawa. Kiev is absolutely amazing. I love my life here. But I miss the very bright people in that group. You have something very precious there.

    cheers.

Why are you living in Kiev now?

"Without all of you I would have hung myself having to live in Ottawa. Kiev is absolutely amazing." I'm not originally from Ottawa, though I've been here for a while. However, when I think of the Canada I grew up in, it has little to do with Ottawa. Glad to hear you like it in Kiev. Most of my good friends growing up were 3rd and 4th generation Ukrainians. And that community contributed solidly to a lot of left-wing politics in Canada back in the day.

Curt, you're right about Ottawa--it is indeed sometimes a oh-come-friendly-bombs type of place and our little philosophical club is a point of light. We in fact do miss your differing perspective that tended to inspire debate. What makes Kiev such a brilliant place to be?

I wish I could, but this conflicts with my leading discussion in another group on Cathcart & Klein's "Plato and a splatypus walk into a bar". I hope you all have a great time!
