Moonlit Hike & Campfire

Are you a young person in the DC area interested in global environmental issues and the future of our planet? Want a chance to get to know, hang out, and talk with other young people about these issues and the world we all dream about and how we can make it happen?

Then join members of Our Task for a “Moonlit Hike & Campfire" on Friday March 15 @ 7:30PM at Potomac Overlook Regional Park, located at 2845 N Marcey Rd. Arlington, VA 22207. It's 64 acres of woods only 15 minutes from DC!

Let's have open conversations around a campfire and talk about our environmental concerns, the direction our society is heading, what we want to see happen instead, and share ideas about how we can get there.

So, if you're around the age of 18-25 (or somewhere close) let's enjoy a fun and safe 20 minute night hike in the woods, and spend time talking and hanging out for an hour or so around a warm campfire. Hope we see you there!

Space limited, please RSVP.

Well, I've seen people do it before, so I know it's possible. (It tastes good, too.). It's not my expertise, though.

Hi everyone, I just want to let you know about a evening fire event going on at our garden in Fairfax on Thursday. My friend from the George Mason Univ. sustainability office asked me to host this fire event for the students who are currently enrolled in a week long permacultue intensive at Mason. People from the class wont be arriving until after 9pm but I am planning to be there for the majoity of the day working in the garden and will be lighting the fire around the time it gets dark. The land is located near the intersection of Lee Highway and Nutley St. If any of you have an interest in coming let me know and I will give you more detailed directions. My phone number is[masked] :)

It seems like a very worthwhile activity, and I'd like to go, but I'm 30+ years over your age limit.

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
