Why do we host a conference annually?  It brings together a community of concerned citizens, providing them an opportunity to not only come together and discuss their hopes and fears for the future, but to go beyond mere discussion to create action plans for effecting change.  Coming together as a community is vital, as it reminds us that we are not alone in caring about the future of Earth.  The conferences inspire people by giving them a place to share successes and lessons learned.  Our annual conferences build community by: (1) Teaching participants about what is really happening to Earth under our current “Plan A”; (2) Discussing prospects under alternative “Plan Bs”; and (3) Developing action plans that young adults will implement after the conference, including contributions toward the “Youth Plan B”.

Participants will learn about the environmental challenges Earth faces, network with young environmental leaders and hear about their accomplishments, and prepare to mobilize to spread the message worldwide! Participants will also be given time to interact with representatives from major environmental organizations like the National Resources Defense Council, Environmental Protection Agency, Worldwatch Institute, and other national environmental groups! Check out the conference agenda to find out more about the structure and speakers!

“Last year’s conference was inspiring and impactful for me, and I can’t wait to participate in the 2014 Earth 2100 Conference this July! The two-day conference is a wonderful, enriching experience, and the community that is built and the human connections that are developed are extremely valuable. This is an awesome conference that should not be missed!”   -Julia Schaefer Gomez, 2013 Earth 2100 Conference participant

FAQ:

Q: Why do I have to pay to attend the conference?
A: A lot of time and effort go into planning a conference. Your registration fee also helps cover fees for the venue, breakfast and lunch each day, and parking.

Q: Am I invited?
A: ABSOLUTELY! Anyone and everyone is welcome to register and attend the Earth 210 Conference.

Q: Do I have to go for both days?
A: While there is no one holding you accountable for going both days, there is no discount for only attending one day. We encourage you to attend both days, as momentum is built throughout the conference. You will get the most out of it if you're there for everything.

Q: What are the roles of the collaborators?
A: This year's collaborators will be providing unique volunteer opportunities for participants. You will be able to get involved in specific projects with these organizations, and will set up a relationship with representatives from those organizations that will lead to long-term volunteer involvement opportunities.

Q: Why is this conference important?
A: Because we need a voice. Young adults face a scary future, and we need to unite to learn about the issues and go out and DO SOMETHING about it. The Earth 2100 Conference provides that opportunity and will provide you with the knowledge you need to be able to speak about the issues and resources that will help you to act on your passions and make a difference.
