Let's enjoy a 5-6 mile hike at one of my favorite parks within an hour from the Twin Cities. The trails at Lake Maria State Park will take us through many samples of Minnesota's natural history - remnants of the "Big Woods,", marshes, and glacier formed potholes. Noted for its wildlife, including an endangered species of turtle, and a stopping point for trumpeter swans. The park offers a full plate of sights on winding trails through oak forests.
Since we will be hiking close to lunch time, please bring a snack and water bottle. After the hike, we will meat at a restaurant and have a real lunch with a nice cold beer for those interested.
Dogs are definitely welcome.
