We had good response to the broomball event for Jan. 2 in just a short time, so I thought I'd throw out another opportunity for broomball. You'll need your own equipment for this one (although if all you need is a stick, I can probably get you one). A group that I play pickup broomball with on Monday evenings could use a few more players. Broomball shoes highly recommended, but sometimes a person can get by with tennis shoes. A broomball stick is required. Balls and goals are provided. Very recommended is knee pads and shin guards (can be broomball/hockey or can get by, for example, with volleyball kneepads and soccer shin guards underneath warmup jersey type pants). Some people play with helmet and elbow pads but many go without those. No experience necessary. A mix of talent levels seems to play there-- some newcomers, some pretty athletic. Here is a Google Map showing the rink: http://maps.google.co... Capping it at 8 since there will already be some others there.
