A full moon is suppose to happen on this night starting at 2:36pm. Of course it'll still be light out, but that's when the full moon is suppose to develop.
We'll hike around the family farm and come back to the farmyard for an old fashioned bonfire. If there is decent snow on the ground we'll snowshoe and if there isn't enough snow we'll hike. This hike will be through some woods, up and down the farmfield and around a small lake. With a full moon scheduled it'll look awesome on the lake.
I'll have hot chocolate, smores and hot dogs for grillin'.
DIRECTIONS & other housekeeping things: The farm house is the old white two story house at the very, very end of a 1/4 mile long driveway. Please don't park in front of the driveway of the gray house next to a falling down building.
Park on the sides of the driveway and you'll know you are at the right place as there will be a small tree with some xmas light on it.
This isn't the easiest place to find in the dark so if lost call me at[masked] or try the farm phone[masked]-3308. I'll put out some red xmas lights at the end of the driveway on a "Pioneer Seed Corn" sign that reads "Grassylake Farm."
If coming from the Cities go east on Interstate 94 to Hwy 95 and go south to the second 4-way stop, which is 70th street. Take a left and you'll know you're on the right road as there's a sign that reads something like "Afton Alps 2.5 miles." Continue on 70th street and after Oakgreen you'll go down a hill and past 3 driveways on the south side. You'll then go up a hill and 1/2 way up the hill will be a 4th driveway on the south side and that's the driveway you'll need.
If you get to Afton Alps Ski Area or Afton State Park you've gone to far on 70th street. The driveway is on the south side of the road at the top of a hill and right where rows of pine trees on both sides of the road end.
We'll be collecting non-perishable food items for a food shelf in South St Paul called "Neighbors" AND kids pajamas for Louie's Pajama project.
