Lake Walk at Lake Como

Let's get in a walk around Como Lake.

For those interested in staying at the park there will be music, and live performances at the Como Pavillion that will resemble a New York performance ....... ah, well, with a slightly Norwegian / German twist. The show is scheduled to start at 7:00pm, and is on the OSL calendar!

So come on out and get a nice leisurely walk around the lake in before the performance. Dogs are welcome, but it isn't an official "Doggy Walk" as I didn't set it up that way. If people want a more hard core walk they are welcome to do so and continue walking around Como Park.

Please consider joining us for the music afterwards. - Sue

Doggy Walkers, plan ahead regarding if you're going to stay afterward with your pup. The Lakeside Promenade is behind Pavilion, lakeside ;) ;) and is where the performance will be held. The performance is going to be close to two hours. I suggest feeding your pup after the walk, bringing plenty of water for them. The weather & temps look to be temperate/mild. It'll be great to see everyone (and the pooches in attendance) tomorrow. Friday - 8/24, I expect to have a Doggy Walk at Lake Nokomis - Keep an eye out for my Announcement.

There are two parking lots at Como by Black Bear. Will you be at the south or north parking lot? http://www.comozooconservatory.org/wp-content/uploads/2010/03/Como-Area-Parking-And-Amenities.jpg

Also, they may not allow pets for the performance although I have brought my small dog into the open pavilion for music performances. Might be worth checking out before being disappointed.

Karen / Everyone - The South parking area is larger, and both parking areas will likely be needed for not only our group (>40), but also for general public attending. Across from the pavilion is a fountain. I haven't spoken to Sue, but I think if everyone can migrate toward the pavilion/fountain - we'll all find each other.

Do you socialize after? Could I just meet you after the walk around the lake?

Tony - There is another OSL Meetup immediately after this Lake Walk, so you might just want to RSVP for that. Most will be attending the Performance at Como Park. Those not going to the Performance may or may not go out afterward. Best Suggestion would be to try to meet everyone during the event itself if possible.

I'll (Dave .) be attending with Rusty. Dog-Owners can join me on this Lake Walk. I'll also be setting up other Lake Walk/Doggy Walks as I have done in the past. If bringing your pup, please consider these two things: 1) Bordatella vaccine. 2) Gentle Leader for younger or stronger-assertive pups. Sorry for the confusion. Glad to see all the RSVPs!!
