Eastman Nature Center Opening Hike

Eastman Natuer Center has their Grand Reopening celebration on this day. Once can park at the Maple Grove High School and take the free shuttle over to the Nature Center. We'll hike the trails and return to the Nature Center to see what is new.

Explore the all new, hands-on exhibits and the self-guided trail. See the new
homes of our resident snakes, turtles, salamanders & owl. For the kids-craft activities, take
home a bird house, face painting & puppet shows. Enjoy FREE refreshments and
ceremony at 2pm. Parking at Maple Grove High School (9800 Fernbrook Lane) with
shuttle bus to Eastman.

"This hike will be about 2 hours and we'll scout out the trails that we can also take for snowshoeing and/or cross country skiing this upcoming winter. Let's hope there is going to be plenty of snow for the winter. - Sue"

We had a great hike in the woods. Very good event for all the children there. They did a good job of getting the kids involved in the outdoors and in nature.

Though I did not RSVP I was there, and met the group just after 2:00 pm. I knew the general direction the group traveled in as you headed out over the prairie and was hoping to run into everyone as I travel in a similar counter clock wise direction. I did run into to other meet up people on trail. Had a nice Hike with Larry +1 daughter. There were Frogs, snakes, small birds, a woodpecker and signs of beaver activities.
Oh yea, lots of scat. TMI. Did anyone notice the Scat display in the bathrooms? How appropriate. Had a nice ride back to the parking lot with Jenea A.
