Hiking in Mexico
Join author, Polly Keith Scotland and her husband photographer Lee Scotland, to hear their exciting travel stories. Including a Copper Canyon trip where recent bandito attacks forced them to take an alternate route in the region between Urique and Batopilas.
"Don't Go! It's too dangerous!" These were the pleas from their friends when they told them they would be hiking the Copper Canyon area of Mexico. A vigorous 4 day trek between the remote cities of Urique and Batopilas gives exceptional insight into the ways of the native Tarahumara (Raramuri) citizens.
As a former fight attendant and travel cruise escort, Polly has found her most remarkable travel excursions involve hiking 14-ers with blistered feet, biking strength-sapping mountain passes, or heading into the whitecaps of Lake Superior. Polly's book takes the reader to such places as Iceland, Alaska, Canada, and Chile--with many stops in between.
Join them for this presentation to hear their stories first hand. Book Signing - 4:30pm - 6:30pm, Presentation - 6:30pm -7:30pm.
