New Meetup: Hike Afton before the Stars come out

Announcing a new Meetup for MN & WI Outdoor & Snow Lovers!

What: Hike Afton before the Stars come out

When: July 17,[masked]:30 PM

Where: (A location has not been chosen yet.)

Nia had a great idea about going for a short hike before the "star gazing" that night. Thank you Nia for the suggestion!

Details: We'll meet at the Visitors Center around 6:30pm and head out for a short hike on the southern side of the park around 6:45pm.

The trail that we will be taking is south of the Visitors Center and winds a bit east and then southeast. There are portions which are paved and it's more prairie-like than the trails to the north.

Please consider coming out and spending the evening with nature and the stars. I grew up out here and my parents still have a farm in the area. You may see wild turkey's, an occasional coyote from a great distance (they are afraid of humans) and some deer. You may even hear a donkey braying from a neighboring hobby farm. Well, at least that's what the darn thing kept doing over July 4th. - Sue
