White Pines tower over our landscapes from Canada to the tip of Georgia over to the great lakes. Although easy to recognize with their soft green sweeping branches and tall stature, their health and medicinal uses are mostly overlooked in our culture. A handful of pine needles has five times the vitamin C of the same weight of lemons! The Great Bay Resource Protection Partnership in southern NH offers a beautiful rolling trail through woods and wet lands called the Sweet Trail. We will spend our day along this trail exploring what White Pine has to offer to wound management and general nutrition. Please bring warm layers, a good attitude, and enough to food to keep you happy. All levels, ages and experience welcome.
The Parking lot is found on the left side of Bay Rd coming from Newmarket, NH. It is labeled Lubberland Creek Preserve Parking. There will be a Wilderness Medicine Adventures poster to let you know you've found the right spot.
Hope to see you there and please contact me with any thoughts.
