Looking for an alternative to the customary NYE celebrations …we are hitting the slopes!!!!
This getaway allows us to getaway for a few days and still have time to return to attend other NYE celebrations.
We are going to ring in the Eve of New Years with a nice Champagne Toast in the Winter Wonderland of Wisconsin at Camp Sturtevant.
Camp Sturtevant is approximately a 4-5 hours drive from the Chicago depending on your starting point.
Camp Sturtevant is near tubing hills, sledding hills, cross country tracks, and Granite Peak for downhill skiing or snowboarding or snowshoeing. We will be staying in Wausau, Friday December 28, Saturday, December, 29, Sunday, December 30, and departing Monday December 31. There is a possibility to stay Monday night and depart Tuesday, January 1 after breakfast.
Cost for the weekend getaway would be $125 per person for a four day and three night stay.
There are no partial stay discounts, it's all or nothing but you can depart at anytime.
All meals and non-alcoholic beverages will be provided, vegetarian and non-vegetarian options available.
Continental breakfasts on Saturday, Sunday and Monday;
Saturday, Sunday and Monday, lunches will be DIY and
Friday, Saturday and Sunday dinners will be gourmet and made from scratch cafe style!!
Adult beverages are BYOB, except the NYE Champagne Toast.
All in all this a great price for a weekend getaway and celebrating NYE with friends without the worry of driving home.

This is no intended to be a recruiting call. Please rsvp on this MU page.
Please email me for my address to submit payment to this event.
Payment must be remitted within 7 days of RSVP’ing or your name will be removed from the YES list.
RSVP's after December 18 through December 25 will have to pay via Paypal only. NO EXCEPTIONS unless you can drop off payment at my place!!
I hope you understand as I have to submit an attendee number by December 26. Also, I want to have fun and chasing people for payment is not my idea of fun!
This event is limited to the 28 attendees.
More about the facilities: Camp Sturtevant has one main room with an amazing fireplace and a kitchenette. Off of the common room with fireplace are two wings with 15 bunk beds in each. The bunk beds have a thick foam pad. You would need to bring a sleeping bag and a pillow. The bathrooms are clean, with hot showers and flush toilets.
One of my favorite things is the guitar play and sing a long in front of the firelplace!
Activities available for additional expense:
For alpine ski/snowboard, I know granite peak does rentals. http://www.skigranitepeak.com
Also, there is a good cross country area called Nine Mile Forest Recreation Area: http://www.co.marathon.wi.us/Departments/ParksRecreationForestry/RecreationOpportunities/Biking.aspx
Cross country skis and snow shoes are usually available for rent.
Finally, Tubing is a great group activity!! The tubing hill facility provides the tubes as part of their admission charge.
Note: While there are stores in town that rent skis and snowshoes, keep in mind rental are available on a first come, first serve basis. I would rent here and not take any chances because they may not be available upon arrival.
Also, we will hold a contest with prizes to the best decorated bunk at camp.
I will arrive early to get a few runs in at Granite Peak!!
I will email all paid attendees a suggested gear list for the weekend!!
Sledding is available for free so bring your sleds!!!!!
We will make carpooling arrangements as we get closer to the end of the year!
We can stay Thursday if there is enough interest?
FYI: This a non-smoking event.
This is going to be a blast!!!!
