Ferguson Canyon is a great hike close to the mouth of Big Cottonwood Canyon. The length is 3.4 miles round trip and elevation gain of 1,650 feet. This hike has a couple of steep areas and is a great workout!
Bring a headlamp, microspikes or Yaktrax (there will be snow pack for the last 1/3 of the hike), water, a snack, and comfortable hiking shoes. Carpool if you can because parking is limited. Those that know where I live, arrive at 5:45pm and we'll walk up to the trailhead.
Directions: Turn east off Wasatch Drive to Prospector Drive (7535 South).
