New Years Eve is always amateur night where those who don't know how to party bring out the cops in force. Why expose yourself to the crush.

Wait a week or two and drink and dance the night away to the smooth sounds of the Mood Swing Orchestra in the swanky Bellevue Club in Oakland.

One can attend to ways, one with drinks and dancing only for $62, Or for an added $70 you can have the Prix Fixe three course dinner as well with a strategically placed table on the edge of the Dance Floor.

Formal attire requested as one would expect for an event of this nature.

Hello there, I'm new to the group. Sounds as though you have room for 2 more folks at your table. I'm interested in one but just wanted to ask if all the folks at the table are couples and if the spots are still avail. If your all couples, I'd rather not have dinner and opt out. Let me know. thanks

Hello again Angelica, there's a guy looking to go who's solo as well. Richard is his name, you'll find him in this thread so there you go two solo's with appropriate F M mix. Cheers, Ed

Hi Richard... I'd love to go. I was thinking about it last night but I received a confirmation for an event I was on the wait list for. It's in Castro Valley for a group of folks I know in another meet-up so I think I will be going there. Thanks so much for contacting me. I hope you all have a great time and I look forward to meeting you all soon. :-)

Hi everyone! it looks like we have exactly 10 people attending this event. Is everyone going for dinner, or just the drinks and dance? I look forward to meeting everyone!

Hello Natalie, Looks like they are dropping like flies as the ten is now eight. (Honestly this happens every year I only post this thing for Jane.) I have an eight person table and there are two seats left at it SO it appears no one has bought tickets as all those accounted for are my personal friends. Or... if they did, its not for dinner. The drinks only and dinner people have always been seated in separate locations so ? Who knows.... If you are up, my peeps do the dinner and its the "Ed Camp Table" at present we could handle two more.

I just realized I'm singing at BLU 42 that night with the Groove Doctors! I can't attend after all.

Another question.... Dancing and drinking only participants will not be seated in the dining area. They just can't do that.

This is a fun event for sure, I've been going for about ten years. As per going solo, yes you can. The vast majority of attendees are couples or.... people who know one another and just like to dance. There are two ways to attend, one is with drinks and dancing only. The other is the sit down dinner. If you do the dinner you are at a dining table and it helps if you have a group. If you are there for drinks and dancing only, there has historically been a large area of cocktail tables. This year they are at a new venue so I am not sure exactly what to expect. I usually have a table that seats ten so if you can't get together with a few other people you can indicate you are at the Ed Camp Table when you purchase your ticket that is... ONLY if you intend to have dinner. That way you'll have a place to be seated.

    Hope this helps.....

Hello, I'm very excited to attend this event; however, does this event require to attend with a partner, I was planning to go alone.
