Holidays in the Vineyards Livermore Wineries

  • December 1, 2012 · 11:30 AM

Livermore Valley Wine Country celebrates the season with a weekend full of holiday cheer!

Holidays in the Vineyards is an annual wine country tradition where wineries showcase their tasting rooms with arts and craft vendors, special wines, festive activities, santa visits, carolers, and more.

Guests are encouraged to bring toys to their favorite wineries. All toys will be donated to the Pleasanton-Livermore Fire Association's Toys for Tots Program after the event, directly benefitting children in need throughout Alameda and Contra Costa Counties. For more on the Toys for Tots program, visit http://pleasanton-ca.toysfortots.org/local-coordinator-sites/lco-sites/default.asp

I have hosted this event for the the past few years and have really enjoyed it. The various wineries are decorated and have different activities going on as well as food and wine tasting.

This event is from 12:00 to 5:00 so I thought we could try to visit one winery per hour with short driving time inbetween. I am going to list six wineries to visit or we can remove one and visit five of them. Each winery will have different activities, music, craft vendors, food, etc. Consider bringing some toys along for the toy drives, some wineries will waive their tasting fee with a toy donation. These are listed in the order in which we will visit them.

1.Page Mill Winery- $5.00 tasting fee or free with a toy donation or refunded with purchase.

Chili both days- Various vendors

2.The Steven Kent Winery-$10.00 tasting fee (includes keepsake glass) I really like this winery but if the majority would like to skip it due to the higher tasting fee then we can do so.

Wine and cheese pairing/chocolate and wine pairing, Various Vendors

3.Garre Winery-$5.00 tasting fee refunded with purchase

Various Vendors

4.Eagle Ridge Winery-No tasting fee

Tri Tip Chili, hot mulled wine, Various Vendors

5.Bent Creek Winery-No tasting fee

Cabana Dave's clam chowder pairedwith wine, jazz and holiday music, Various Vendors

6.Charles R Winery-$5.00 tasting fee refunded with purchase

Holiday music, S'mores package for two $4, Various Vendors

Hopefully we can arrange some carpooling with some DESIGNATED DRIVERS who like to go but prefer or do not drink. Put in your RSVP if you would volunteer to be a DD. And thanks in advance. There are three meetup groups combined for this event.

This is not a ticketed event, however Tasting Fees may apply and vary by winery.

Unfortunately, I brought home a bunch of work for the weekend. I can't go for the entire thing, but plan to go to a couple of wineries. Since I will do that on my own, I am changing my RSVP to no. Sorry for the late change, hope someone can use my space and carpool with Greg.

I will look for the group if we happen to be at the same winery.

    Cheers!

Hi Tina, I can drive. I don't drink much and will probably stop after 1-2 glasses over the 5 hours. I don't see that as impairing me (I am a big guy).

Question, Is this event indoors or outdoors? I ask because it's supposed to rain for the next few days.

Thanks Donnie, Ken tasting and most activities will be held indoors. If any wineries had events scheduled for outdoors I'm sure they will adjust based on the weather tomorrow. See you all at Lowe's, I'm ready to wine taste and start the holiday festivities.

Well seeing that you are 17th on the wait list I'm sure his last seat will be spoken for before you move up to the yes list. But good try!!!

I would love to ride with Greg and Teresa, if I graduate from the wait list! ;)

Are all of you on the yes list planning on meeting at Lowe's at 11:30 and attending the wineries I have listed? There are three wait lists for this event and if you are holding a space on the yes list but plan to go to this event on your own then you might want to change your RSVP to let those on the wait list who want to go with the group move up to the yes list. Or if you have listed a plus 1 or 2 and this has changed then also update your RSVP which will open space. Please keep your RSVP updated. Glad to see we have so many wino's in the group, lol jk.....NOT!

Any willing desigated drivers in this group? It would be great to list if you can DD or if you prefer to be a passenger, or if you will be going it on your own or if you will be following the group??? Come on folks it's not hard to update your RSVP and share your plans, it really helps the organizers know certain details. Thanks much.
