Hi there - I saw that on the "suggested meetups" tab on the Oxford Movie Fans MeetUp page that a new MeetUp group's first MeetUp is listed there. If, as it appears, this is a new MeetUp group called Young Professionals Oxford, that's great, but shouldn't it have it's own MeetUp page rather than being listed as an event on the Oxford Movie Fans page? Just to avoid confusion...because the Movie MeetUp group is not age nor employment restricted and I think it will confuse people having events for a different group for professional 20-30somethings on the Oxford Movie Fans page. Oxford Movie Fans prides itself on being a very open and inclusive group and it would be very unfortunate if older or non-'professional' people were deterred from attending. Of course there is a place for age and employment restricted groups and great if you want to start one, but I strongly think the new group must have their own group and their own separate page on the MeetUp site.
The Oxford Movie Fans Meetup is a friendly, welcoming group catering to all those in the Oxford area who have an enthusiasm for film. Would you like to see a wide range of films from eclectic art house to action blockbusters? Do you enjoy talking about films over drinks or a meal? If so please do join us!
We see films at Oxford's various cinemas including The Phoenix, Ultimate Picture Palace, both Oxford Odeons and the Vue Multiplex (if you don't have a car and need help getting to the Vue just ask). There are also occasional trips out of town to other events of interest such as IMAX screenings.
We actively welcome everyone who has an interest in film. If you enjoy watching movies and prefer to do so in like-minded company then you are very welcome to join the group.
