It was lovely to meet you Jeannie, sorry if it was a bit loud in places!

Really nice to see so many of the group together, and thanks in particular to Marco for recruitment initiatives which went above and beyond the call. The event was a good idea that partially came off. Pieman's human beatboxing was extraordinary and the Ben Mowatt orchestra showed promise. Ragdoll were good and supremely tolerant of my flashing camera. Only a slightly dodgy blues jam near the end and the cumulative effects of volume on the ears drove me away ultimately, but as an alternative to Catweazle on a Thursday evening Cross Polly Nation has plenty to recommend it.

Neil, what time do you recommend getting there - 7.30pm?

Tough one - I've only been to the James Street Tavern to see music once before (a jazz evening) and I'd say it holds around 30-40 people seated in the backroom music bar (with room for another 5-10 standing). You can certainly hear the music in the other bar, but you won't see the musicians. I'd recommend as close to 7 as possible to have a good chance of getting a seat, but it's really in the lap of the Gods...I finally have a smartphone so you can email me for seating updates. I'll probably send one or two out myself.

Will also be late... all a bit dependent on some fairly major plumbing issues!

Would recommend getting there as early as you can to be within range of the musicians, and head for the back bar!

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
