Oxage: Across Portals (A walking tour with a difference)

Which side will you chose?

A play about the fight for freedom in a new reality

Fairy Dust Arts presents a new walking tour play: this exciting unique fantasy will inspire and entertain you.

Your host for the evening is Jess (aka Laura Boone, compere of Oxford Arts Group Christmas performance showcase). Jess is warm and friendly and will also provide all guests with a Fortune cookie.

Fortune will be your tour guide and narrator of the play. He will lead you through the twisty paths in Oxford and revel the secrets to his world: Oxage.

You will be able to follow a story of a girl called Alex lost in this strange and alien world.

Will the clues help her find the way home? Will she outrun the evils of this world? Which side will you choose?

"Oxage is a world that used to be of love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, gentleness and self-control, a Utopia. Now Oxage has become a distopia, a world of hatred, fear and mistrust, a world where vile humans are now animals." Will 'Safehaven' the rebel movement, succeed in the fight to claim back their old ways?

7.30pm start, meeting outside The Leather Shop on 4 Turl Street.

Weather fine, beautiful surroundings, interesting play. Slight problems with audibility at the beginning and the middle. I know how Laura and the cast have been working to stage this so congratulations are due for their efforts. I took along two other teachers and they said the story was difficult to follow BUT they were able to chat with the cast at the mid point and after the event and so were fine after that. (Dunno why I didn't get a 'good to see you'...)

I have been helping Laura with this and, when it all comes together, it will be very interesting. Quite a few people are involved and - provided the weather holds - (as Oxage is outside) it will be of great interest for those new to oxford...and even those who have been here for years ...and have been unaware of the portals......

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
