Jazz or Folk in Oxford - or both?

For those who prefer their jazz live and local, the excellent Trish Elphinstone Quintet, featuring innovative guest pianist Pat Thomas, are playing a free concert at The Half Moon in Oxford next Wednesday at 8.45. Not only that, but on the same night and within easy walking distance, James Street Tavern host their latest Galician folk evening.

Both events are well worth attending, but with the Galician folk starting at 8:00, we could meet at James Street Tavern, and if so inclined, pop along to see Trish and company later on.

Meet in the rear bar of the James Street Tavern from 7.30: Admission to both events is free.

Really enjoyed the evening, some brilliant conversations. Even though my young grandsons middle name is Monk, I have never really listened to any jazz and I have been missing something! As always thanks Neil !

Delighted to be the one to make the introductions! Currently following up on other jazz leads, so stay (more or less) tuned.

Great music to begin with at JST, but than got too mellow. Company was super though :)

Emergency announcement! Oxford Drunken Knitwits have occupied the bar of James Street Tavern. We'll still meet here in front bar, but no seats for music, so probably head for jazz thereafter.

    Hi everyone,
I am so sorry. I just came back from work and I have had an exhausting day, so I am too tired to come tonight.
Hope to see you next time.

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
