The fourth of Oxford Arts Group's informal poetry reading and discussion evenings:
Four readers choose a poet, provide an introduction, and read one or two pieces. There follows a discussion of both poet and their work. Whereupon we all politely agree to disagree, or the opposite.
20-25 minutes is dedicated to each poet, with a break for refreshments half way through.
Hopefully, the events will provide an opportunity to develop our appreciation of poetry of all kinds. The Albion Beatnik, with its collections of poetry volumes and anthologies, makes an ideal place to start.
Chosen poems will be listed in the week before the event in order to allow guests to seek out work in advance. Printed copies may be available on the night, but please try to bring your own.
Places are limited so please update your RSVP if you are no longer able to attend.
