For the next episode in Jim B Donovan's series of Arthouse Discos, we'll be featuring soulful and funky grooves from the early 70s and thereabouts from the likes of Sly and The Family Stone, Isaac Hayes, Stevie Wonder, Ike and Tina Turner, Al Green, Parliament, Curtis Mayfield, Marvin Gaye, The O' Jays and the godfather of funk, Mr James Brown.
Having taken on board your feedback after Episode 1, they'll be a greater variety of food on offer (soul or otherwise) and if you'd like to suggest tunes, the list will be forwarded to Mr James B (Donovan) - the hardest working DJ in, well....Reading. The visuals will also be updated/backdated with new software to ensure a smoother flow.
Bar as usual, parking at the venue, special requests - just let us know and we'll do our best to accommodate. And while it's tempting to end by counting, 'one two three four...Get Up, Get on UP!' I'll leave you with the extraordinarily beautiful sound of Mr Al Green:
