Volunteer at Third Phase Inc (women's shelter)

The holidays are a time to give to others and the ministry of Third Phase Inc. is a worthy recipient! It's Hamilton Counties largest shelter, food and clothing pantry and they shelter abused women. It's run by two elderly Christian women who need a lot of volunteer workers. They have hands-on tasks like moving boxes, sorting clothes, carrying wood, running a log splitter, helping in the store and many other activities. If you show up, they'll put ya to work. Sunday is their rest-day and Tuesday or Thursday is the best day to come but they'll take what they can get.

I've listed two dates that I can attend (12/13&12/28). Naturally, it's hard to find one date that fits everyone's schedule. Instead, let's tag-team to cover more dates with smaller groups of volunteers! That way almost everyone can work on a date convenient to them and Third Phase gets more help. One need not have a buddy to volunteer but 2-4 person teams will be more fun. We can use a Google Document (linked below) to enter schedules and see what dates work for other teammates. If two people agree on a date, I'd be happy to post the day and time so others might join you. Just email me the info, please. Btw, if you leave your email address next to your name it means that you don't mind another member contacting you to agree on a date.

Hi. I responded yes, but just saw the 2 links. Do I need to do that or okay to arrive at 430? Doing those other items would be rough on my phone. Please confirm if I am okay to show up today. Thanks.

Sorry I didn't follow up here. I sent an email and didn't get a response. I'm working today, would you mind calling them? [masked]). Just ask whoever answers if 11 y.o. is ok and mention that Ruth said teens would be fine.

We'll meetup inside the main building, please. When you go through the front door, there's a sign-in sheet for volunteers. There's also a large dining table where we can sit and chat for a bit while late-comers arrive. I look forward to seeing you there!

They have need of a delivery truck driver but only on specific days and times. You'd use their truck (not your car) to drive across town and back (or variety of stops). They have a cargo van and a 10-12 foot Box Truck. The truck used depends on the day you volunteer.

The task is a morning job, starting 9 or 9:30 and lasts a few hours. They have need on every-other-Tuesday morning, Wednesday morning, Friday morning and also Friday afternoon (approx 12:30)

Shelly asked a good Q: What to bring?
Answer: boots, gloves, warm clothes. You'll be "in and out" side

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
