Great time of year! The tourists are gone, the kids are back in school, and we can explore the Zoo again on our monthly photo shoots. Join us for a fun and exciting weekday Photo Shoot of at the San Diego Zoo!
This is the third of monthly Zoo Shoots for each month until May or June.
We will meet to the right of the entrance in front of the membership booth at 8:30a.m. and do the group photo and get in line at 8:45a.m. We will enter the Zoo when it opens at 9:00a.m. sharp. Please be on time! If you are late or lost, do not worry, you can call me Walter on my cell phone at[masked], and I will tell you where we are, but try not be late. Maps are available at the entrance. If you're unfamiliar with the Zoo, take one. Here is a link to the Zoo web site:

Our Route. Please read this.
This month we will begin in the Reptile House again, so you may want to bring a macro lens for this or a fast prime. We will shoot the Snakes and Lizards and we will then check out the new Reptile area which also has the Giant Tortoises. From there it's off to check out the Baby Orang Utan, the Gorillas and some of the Aviaries. Then it's off to the Mandrills, Fishing Cat and Tigers. Then we'll see the Hippos, Red Pandas and Giant Pandas. From there up Cat Canyon to visit the Amur Leopards, Snow Leopards and Siberian Lynxes. At the top of Cat Canyon we will hang a right and check out the Camels and Koalas. We'll see if the Cheetah's are out and will also see the Rhinos and the Giraffes. Then it's break time at Sidney's Grill. Here we can rest, enjoy lunch, trade epic yarns about our adventures and our, oh so excellent photos so far on the shoot, and talk about cameras and gear. After lunch we will explore some of the different aviaries of the Zoo.
Prices have gotten very expensive for "Dining" at the Zoo, so bringing your lunch may be a very good idea. A small bottle of water goes for over $4.00 now!!!
Some special notes (Please read this too):
If you RSVP YES, please show up, otherwise change your RSVP to NO.
Bring walking shoes, water, hats and sunscreen etc. or whatever you need. A telephoto zoom is the best lens to bring. You can also pack your lunch if you like.
If you are a member of the Zoo and have a guest pass that can be used by a non-member, please indicate so in your RSVP. This generosity has helped quite a few people in our photo shoots in the past, as the current admission for non-members is now (gulp) $42.00. Thank you.
Members needing assistance or who have questions can ask me or any other Organizers present. We will be glad to help. There will also be other experienced photographers present willing to help out.
It should be another great day out. If you have any questions, suggestions or ideas you can email Walter by going to my member profile. If you get lost or separated from the group, call my cell phone,[masked]-7893. See you there!
Please Note: By submitting a YES RSVP you agree that PPS, Organizers and Event Hosts are not responsible for your safety, or for any injury or accident of your person or your property. You agree that you have read the instructions of the announcement and that you are able to participate in the event at your own risk.
