Sunset / Night Shoot at USD

Please read the entire announcement carefully before submitting your RSVP. You must agree to the arrangements we have made in order to attend.

Join us for a sunset / night shoot at the University of San Diego. The campus has many excellent photo ops and some great lighting at sunset because of its hilltop location.

As we will be photographing on private property the size of the group will be kept to a total of ten photographers. Doubtlessly, there will be a waiting list for this event, which will be repeated in January, if this one is a success. Only RSVP if you are 100% sure you can go.

What we will do: We will meet in front of the Old Immaculate Conception Church in Old Town and then car pool in no more than three vehicles to the USD campus at 3:30 sharp, so don't be late. We will park and then walk through the campus photographing the various buildings. We will try to be on the West side of campus at sundown (pictured above). Sundown is at 4:55PM We will leave campus by 6:00PM or before, and drive back to Old Town. Those who want to can have dinner together and / or do some night shooting in Old Town.

What we will not do: Get separated from the group. Attract undo attention to ourselves.

What to bring: Tripod, Shutter Release, Wide to Medium Lenses, appropriate clothing for the weather.

Any questions or comments, please contact Walter via email. Email me if you are willing to be one of the three drivers taking from Old Town to USD and back.

Walter, will you carry over the RSVP & wait lists?

    December 17, 2012

    • Walter Otto K.

Robert: Yes, the GO list and waiting list have been carried over. This is why I prefer postponing rather than canceling a shoot. This way everyone keeps their place.

It is raining in Chula Vista. Are we just on a "wait and see" mode?

    December 17, 2012

    • Walter Otto K.

That's right Charlie Anne, it's "wait and see" mode, though I must say it's looking pretty dismal in Del Cerro. Raining and foggy. Will post whether we'll go ahead or postpone by noon. Cross you fingers everyone.

The hourly forecasts are still good for tomorrow afternoon - sunny and no precip. We'll monitor conditions and plan (hope) for great golden hour light.
