( ADDITIONAL INFORMATION... THIS IS 2 HOUR CANOE TRIP THROUGH THE ISLANDS THEN STOP OF FOR SOME FOOD AN DRINKS AND TAKE IN THE VIEW OF THE CITY FROM A FAR, ITS A GREAT SOCIAL EVENT, IF YOU HAVEN'T JOINED US FOR THIS EVENT THEN ITS A MUST, WE HAVE ONLY HAD GREAT FEED BACK FROM THIS TRIP AND WANT YOU TO ENJOY IT AND SHARE THE EXPERIENCE WITH US, HOPE TO SEE YOU THERE :D )
This is an event that offers something different for those who would like to hangout and spend more time with each other after our tour, and so a 5 minute walk from the center islands ferry is the Toronto Island Yacht Club.It has a very laid back feel and a great atmosphere, good food and drinks and good company.
To start with we will meet up at our usual location grab our jackets and paddles, this give us some time before our tour getting to know each other, then after our guides have helped you with your jackets and safely in the canoe they will help with your beginners guide to paddling.
Once on the canoe we will aim towards Wards island which is located at the far east of the islands, our goal is to cover one side to the other in 2 hours, passing through the lagoons and bird sanctuaries along the way, We would stop on center islands half way through just for 10 minutes so we can stretch our legs then carry on the tour.
Once we come to our final location on the islands we would ask you to leave all your jackets and paddles inside the canoe and take out any belongings. Because as we head to the Marina Bar our friends would pull the canoes back to the harbor front via petrol boat.
Again the Bar/Restaurant itself has a very laid back feel, with a huge wooden outside deck with and amazing view of the city at night, people just there to have fun and enjoy the music, food and drink plus a great view. Also they even have the horse shoe throwing game.
Now the reasons we are not paddling back is because we do have a very strict code for any alcohol consumption and also the center island ferry is completely free to come back on, so no need to show a ticket or anything, the rule would be if you can make your own way across to the island it is free to return.
With the timetable on a Saturday night in the summer the last ferry leaves @ 11:45 pm, now i have been there myself and waited for that last ferry and missed it, there are water taxis as a last resort but can be very expensive so i would recommend that we get the ferry @ 11:15 pm back just to be safe.
If anybody needs to leave us earlier, then the ferry runs every 30 minutes from center islands back to the harbor ferry docks, which at that time also is great for photo opportunities.
I really hope to take two of our canoes on this event as it can create a fun and competitive environment for some mini races and banter.
Please get in touch guys with any question and i will reply as soon as i get the chance.
Hope you all have a great week and hope to see you soon :D
