Paddle at Whitehall State Park

Hopefully, your weekend chores are done and you can wind down the Mother's Day weekend with a relaxing paddle on this pretty lake.  Please arrive in time to be in your kayak (butts in boats) and ready to paddle at 4:30.  Plan to spend about 3 hours on the water which will bring us back to the boat launch before sunset.

IMPORTANT: Do not program "Whitehall State Park" into your GPS.  The parking for the boat launch is on Route 135 between Hopkinton and Westborough Centers.  The nearest Road to the launch is Dale Road in Hopkinton.

***PLEASE NOTE*** The organizers in this group are NOT trained leaders or instructors.  The organizers only set the time and place, each person participating in any group trip is responsible for their own safety.  Each participant is responsible for evaluating all relevant conditions for the trip and determining if their skills and equipment are appropriate for those conditions.

Required: PFD (worn), whistle.  Optional/recommended: pump/bailer, insect repellent, water, snack, change of clothes in drybag.

Windy but doable. Loved the little islands, nooks and cranies.

You were wondering about our mileage - it was about 3.75 miles.

This was a fun trip. The waves made it all the more exciting. First time out this year. Looking for more.

Doug says the meetup was 5 stars due to the wind! It was really windy! It was blowing between 15-20 MPH for most of the time. It was only calm when we were in sheltered areas. We all had fun!

I have never kayaked up here. What is the appropriate gear for this time of year. As the group is full I guess I can just paddle around by myself.

I'm super happy to join you all! Although I will look like the ugly duckling in my paddleboard!

Can I come with my paddleboard instead?

Yes, unless I have to work. I recently agreed to work Mother's Day, but think that somebody else is already willing to.

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
