Paddle at Whitehall State Park

Join me for a relaxing paddle on this pretty lake.  Please arrive in time to be in your kayak (butts in boats) and ready to paddle at 3:00 PM. Plan to spend about 2-3 hours on the water exploring at a leisurely pace.

IMPORTANT: Do not program "Whitehall State Park" into your GPS.  The parking for the boat launch is on Route 135 between Hopkinton and Westborough Centers.  The nearest Road to the launch is Dale Road in Hopkinton.

***PLEASE NOTE*** The organizers in this group are NOT trained leaders or instructors.  The organizers only set the time and place, each person participating in any group trip is responsible for their own safety.  Each participant is responsible for evaluating all relevant conditions for the trip and determining if their skills and equipment are appropriate for those conditions.

Required: PFD (worn), whistle.  Optional/recommended: pump/bailer, insect repellent, water, snack, change of clothes in drybag.

What a great group on a beautiful day. It was so nice to see lots of you that I've met over the years and very nice to meet a few new people, too. The weather cooperated very nicely. There was a little excitement with a forest fire on one of the islands. Apparently, the firemen have been trying to put it out for days (or someone keeps setting it?)

Am probably free. This is a high priority for me.

update: Nancy, even though I might be buying a new kayak Saturday morning, I might accept a social invitation in the afternoon. Also, my knee pain is increasing, so even that could interfere with me coming. (I know you won;t wait if I don't.)

This will be my maiden voyage this year. I hope it really is a leisurely pace. :)

Canoe is OK I assume? Have room for another paddler in it in case someone wants to go but doesn't have a boat.
