Buffumville Lake Morning Paddle, all skill levels.

An easy morning paddle for all skill levels.

Buffum is a 200 acre lake, it takes about 1hr 30min to paddle the large side of the lake, 2hrs 15min to do both sides. I figure we can start out on the large side and circle by the launch area for those not able to stay for the whole trip and continue on if anyone wants to.

As alway please be early, the meet time listed is the time we want to be on the water. The boat ramp can get busy to please unload to the side so as not to obstruct other boaters.

Just a note. The mornings are cooler now, so I recommend a light weight jacket or fleece to start out.

***PLEASE NOTE*** The organizers in this group are NOT trained leaders or instructors.  The organizers only set the time and place, each person participating in any group trip is responsible for their own safety.  Each participant is responsible for evaluating all relevant conditions for the trip and determining if their skills and equipment are appropriate for those conditions.

Required: PFD (worn), whistle.

Optional/recommended: pump/bailer, insect repellent, sunscreen, water, snack, change of clothes in drybag, hat with brim/visor and sunglasses.

    9AM 57° Passing Showers
    Noon 65° Mostly Cloudy
    6PM 65° Mostly Cloudy

As you can see, the forecast calls for some passing showers this morning. Please dress for the weather. I would recommend a waterproof jacket, that you can remove on the water as the weather clears, also a dry set of clothes may be a good idea.
    See you there

Since this is full, i'm going to paddle Walktober event #21 in nearby Webster. Thanks for the estimated timelines of the Buffumville paddle. They'll come in handy when i do it myself. (i thought about just showing up and "lurking" behind but perhaps that's frowned upon, lol.)

I am not familiar with this lake so could you give me more specific directions as to where we will be meeting? Thanks.

    September 16, 2013

    • Gregg A.

I believe the closest address is 256 Oxford Rd. Charlton, Ma we will be meeting at the boat ramp which is located across from the park. There is a sign directing you to the boat ramp

The boat ramp is on the south side of Oxford Rd (on the left coming from Oxford center & I-395). The park, now closed, is on the north side of Oxford Rd.
