To confirm, I just spoke with a park ranger the boat ramp is open, the meetup is on!
Plan is to be on the water by 10am, please plan accordingly. The weather is turning cooler so it may be a good idea to pack a jacket or fleece. This paddle tends to run between 2-3 hrs depending on the group.
My intent is to head along the right side of the lake to start and head up into the river, once we hit the shallow rapid we'll head back and finish off the rest of the lake.
Thompson Lake is a bit more than 200 acres, managed by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. The lake has a 5mph speed limit so motor boats a few and far between.
Parking is free, there are about 25 spaces and it is a short carry to the shore.
The address for this is
400 Reardon Rd. N. Grosvenordale, CT 06255
