Evening Paddle at Whitehall

Please arrive in time to LAUNCH (start paddling) at 6:00 PM.  Sunset is around 8:15, so we'll try to be back in time to load up the kayaks before it gets too dark.

As the sun sinks lower in the sky, you will probably appreciate sunglasses and a hat or visor to shield your eyes.

Do not program "Whitehall State Park" into your GPS. It will take you to the other side of the lake.  The launch is on Route 135, near Dale Road in Hopkinton. (Look at the map.)

***PLEASE NOTE*** The organizers in this group are NOT trained leaders or instructors.  The organizers only set the time and place, each person participating in any group trip is responsible for their own safety.  Each participant is responsible for evaluating all relevant conditions for the trip and determining if their skills and equipment are appropriate for those conditions.

Required: PFD (worn), whistle, headlamp/flashlight (evening paddles). Optional/recommended: pump/bailer, insect repellent, sunscreen, water, snack, change of clothes in drybag, sunglasses, hat/visor.

Rush hour traffic screwed up a few people, but for those who made it, it was a nice night on the water.

I also got stuck in traffic going from mass pike to 495. Then I had used the 69-71 Wood street address from the map which took me to a yoga studio and a church. My GPS did not know Whitehall state park and my friend's phone died when I tried to call her so I finally read the description again and GPS'd Dale st and found it but it was 7:03! So I missed it. It was a beautiful night and a lovely drive (all four hours) but I am so disappointed to have missed the paddle!

I am working locally (near home in Mendon), so I am looking forward to finally getting together with the Group and paddling-my-ass-off.

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.

Henry, started Reno Motorcycle Riders
