Nice afternoon paddle, great if it is your first trip. It should take 3-4 hours on the water. The put-in is on Trammel Creek. The water turns into Drakes Creek early in the trip. Six miles long.
An easy paddle, perfect for beginners. It requires minimal skill and really getting in and started is the only part that is a challenge.
The meet-up point is ROMANZA JOHNSON CO PARK. Get there by driving out Scottsville Rd (towards Scottsville) and turn right on to Mount Lebanon Church Road, the park will be a right turn marked by a sign ( pictured). When you turn in to the park, follow the driveway and turn left into the gravel parking lot near the access point. Our take-out will be Phil Moore Park #2.
When we meet up at the put-in (the beginning point of the paddle), we will un-load boats and return our cars to the take-out. Then "shuttle" together to the put-in (the starting point) piled into one car. That way we have trucks/cars waiting for us to put boats in when we get back. And we can adjust the shuttle arrangements based on who shows up and what cars are available.
Unfortunately, there are no rentals available at this location.
