On another Wiccans website. It is my sincere wish to make LIFE-LONG friendships here. I became ill several years ago and when I was bound to my bed or an electric wheelchair, my so called "Friends" abandoned me. So for over 6 years, I was alone. Now that I have those illnesses under better control, I have been able to join the world once more. When I was bedbound, I began to question my belief system, which was hard core pentecostal/Baptist. Where were my "Christian" brothers and sisters in Christ? Were we not supposed to help each other????? So I picked up my laptop computer, praying.... and a few months later, I had already decided to follow Wicca, I had an urge to call a cousin of mine that I hadn't spoken to in years. So strong was the urge I was in tears, yet unsure of why. I told her I didn't know why I was calling, she told me "She knew why!" and proceeded to tell me that she was actually my sister (blood) and she was a High Priestess over a Coven in her state. Need I say more?
I am Wiccan, following nature based Magicks. I enjoy meeting others with like beliefs, but also enjoy those that are different from me too. I have learned that all beliefs have something in common with each other and I do not judge anyone their right to believe how they wish. I am joining this group to learn and to make friends. I want to meet special people who really know what the word "FRIENDSHIP" means. I was taught to make friends you first have to show yourself friendly, and I will do that to honor everyone I come in contact with. I may not agree with everything you say, but I believe that diversity is a very good thing and I think that I will be able to find my best friends here, in this group, with such Traditional and Eclectic people as myself.
I Honor the Great Divine, the trinity and the Goddess from which all life came. I would call myself eclectic because I retain my belief of God as the GREAT DIVINE and in him lives the TRINITY. The only things I had to learn was how the "Goddess" became into being. I learned that much like Jesus and the Holy Spirit, She had always been there too. So if you want to call me a Christian Wiccan, so be it. But most "Christians" would call me Pagan.....they have no idea that that word in it's original latin form meant "Country Dweller".....and I do live in the country. Which makes my work with herbs and doing outside rituals much easier. Later in history the Catholics called ANYONE that didn't accept their religion a "PAGAN".....and then the protestants decided to do the same thing.....so the word PAGAN isn't what the world today attaches to the meaning of the word. For me, it still means "Country Dweller" and I worship my God/Goddess in my beautiful country setting.
I honor the Great Divine in which the trinity and the Goddess also dwell. Some Wiccans believe the Goddess to be seperate, and that could be the case....but coming from a strick Evangelical background, it feels right for me at THIS TIME.....My beliefs are growing, changing and I hope to learn more from my new friends here.
