Weekly schedule, setting up one

  • Needs a date

  • Needs a location

  • Nice weather is golden for this Meet UP Group. Let's set up a weekly time slot, say Saturday or Sunday mornings (perhaps alternating) at 10, and pick a series of locations and just do it. Not every date will fit into everone's schedule. We could start off with several that are easily accessible with some greenery. Boston and the near suburbs are loaded with great spots. A weekday time slot might work for some folks. I'll assist Michael with this effort, if there is interest.

Weekends are best for me until summer... I'm an Art teacher, so I'll have a lot more time off in the summer.

Hope to see you out there Aaron!

I look forward to it. I never got to make a meet up last year. I'm from the South Coast Area. Live in New Bedford, work at Middleboro High School, so the Easter Part of the state is generally best for me. In the summer I like to paint with a friend of mine in Provincetown somewhat regularly. There are also some really nice boat yards, and boat working areas in the New Bedford/Fairhaven area that I enjoy... Also love going up north to Rockport.

I'm interested in getting out to paint more. Are there any dates set up for this group? I'm new to Meetup and not sure if this group is different from or the same as those listed under 'upcoming Meetups'?

Does anyone here paint outdoors in the winter, because I do and would like to see if others would be interested in a local outdoor winter painting? The snow is just great this time of year and the lighting can be a delight.

Does anyone have a little extra room, where I can paint in oil, stain glass work over the winter months? Please email to [masked]; I live in Arlington center and would prefer something close by.

so sorry I missed all of those great plans to paint en plein air -- now that it's December 1st (too late??) -- just curious as to where everyone finally decided to paint? -- and yes the Blue Hills are absolutely gorgeous to paint -- went out alone at Houghton's Pond in October for the fall foliage and loved every minute of it -- I hope people are out there that are still painting outside (weather permitting) - there's nothing like it

I have a semi-plein air suggestion--The Wellesley greenhouses provide a gorgeous (and warm) place to paint. Anyone interested?

Painting inside a greenhouse? Sure, that sounds interesting.

My personal opinion is that alternating Saturdays and Sundays would make the group accessible. My location suggestion is Gloucester. :)

Zoo is always good. but cost money to enter. Fishing villages... Lets really try for this weekend.. that way when fall comes we will have a plan for fall colors.

The Codman House is near Walden pond and is a combination farm land historic house open to the public grounds sort of place, we might try that.

There are so many farms and dairy farms around here. Why don't we find a farm to let us paint.

Really beautiful: Tatnuck Cascades in Worcester, Institute Park in Worcester, Elm Park in Worcester, Tower Hill Botanical Garden in Boylston and Old Stone Church in West Boylston. All but Tower Hill are free. Tower Hill, which is about $10, may be better in April or May, when more flowers are out. Some libraries have passes to Tower Hill.
