Let's Talk SF Paleo Hacks (+Potluck)

  • October 6, 2013 · 4:00 PM
  • Lukasz's Place

This month we'll share and relish our signature primal dishes. To top that off with we'll have a discussion of SF paleo hacks that made your newfound way of life more manageable, amongst the low-fat/vegetarian craze. So bring yourself, bring a plate to share, and think about how you hacked the system. I hope to see you all at this meetup!

Paleo is big in SF, according to this article, which is quoting from the New Yorker:
" the future is the city, where one can gather around a paleo-style dinner, participate in meditation retreats, and pursue those New Age ideals"
    and
"Why be Gordon Gekko when you could make enough to have a nice place and go paleo on local greens—and then take a day or two off to cycle out to Stinson Beach?"

for those looking for Paleo doctors, go here: http://paleophysiciansnetwork.com/

the book I mentioned was Grain Brain, found here: http://www.amazon.com/Grain-Brain-Surprising-Sugar-Your-Killers/dp/031623480X

I think I was supposed to add a couple more things, but I forget what they were...ping me and I'll add them in.

btw, Lukasz I was thinking of another oil, palm oil is actually fine, just not as good as coconut oil, extra virgin olive oil, avocado oil, fish oils, egg yolks, pastured pork lard and grass fed beef butter.

    cheers...see you all soon!!

I learned about Three Stone Hearth (a co-op grocery with bone broth and liver pre-ground into their meat!) and Maple & Honey Bakery (a Paleo bakery for when you're jonesing for a treat). Anyone that was mentioning sources for the best meat and sandwiches without bread... post, please!

Wow! Good eats! We had a great time sharing our experiences with paleo eating and lifestyle, and eating each others' creations. I get a lot of ideas from MarksDailyApple.com. We're wishing there were more paleo-focused restaurants and food trucks around town. Come join us at a future event.

Thanks for the use of your place, Lukasz. Is there an oven for warming dishes? Will plates & utensils & beverages be provided, or do we BYO?

Nope, nothing in particular. Good things happen when things aren't planned :)
