Palm Beach Water Yaks Pages

We're an active group of fun, friendly, paddlers that enjoy being on the water.

Living in Palm Beach County we have an almost endless variety of kayaking options, and our Meetup group should take full advantage of them all. Because of this, and with members of different skill levels and interests, we plan to have several events each month. This will give us plenty of fun and exciting kayaking options to choose from.

Most paddled water-crafts are welcome... sit-on-top (SOT) kayak, cockpit-style kayak, canoe, surfski, etc. Inflatable kayaks (aka Duckies) are not appropriate for this group because they tend to be much slower.

Events will range from recreational to advanced (geared towards highly experienced kayakers). We'll have trips during the day and at night, nature to urban routes, and those that make the most of the warm summer months and the cool winter ones. We'll usually meet somewhere between Boca Raton to Jupiter, but trips further north and south (especially the Keys) maybe planned too. It'd also be fun to mix it up, have some kayaking trips that include other activities (like snorkeling, diving, or social things).

NOT A BEGINNER OR GUIDED TOUR GROUP. If you're a beginner or first-time kayaker please contact the organizer for a referral to a local outfitter so that you can build some paddling skills and participate with this group.

There is no cost for membership; however, contributions to help with Meetup fees and the time/energy to maintain and build the group are appreciated.

Your input would help a lot. Be sure to check out the group polls and/or tell me if you know of any good launch sites or paddling routes; any other ideas too.

There is important information on the Latest Added Pages.

From the ocean to the waterways... if its on water then lets paddle it.

DISCLAIMER: Each member is responsible for their own safety while on the water. It is highly recommended by the group organizer that members wear a PFD (personal floatation device) AND be sure they are physically prepared for the challenges that even recreational kayaking may include. The group organizer and other members may be able to offer you the benefit of their paddling knowledge; however, they assume no responsibility for your safety or liability in the event of an incident during an event.
