The Great American Cleanup is being held in Palm Beach County on Saturday, May 19. The Palm Beach Pack and Paddle Club is hosting a site to do cleanup around Munyon Island, Burnt Bridge adn the shore along N. Ocean Drive. This is our opportunity to make our presence known and help cleanup the waterways we paddle in.
Our ceanup will be done from our kayaks/canoes. We will meet at the South Kayak Launch of John D. MacArthur State Park t 8:00AM. It's located just south of Burnt Bridge on Ocean Driver 1/2 mile south of teh main park entrance on teh west side.
The event will be followed by a group BYOL picnic at the main park (free admission to volunteers). For more information contact Jim Kramer, [masked],[masked]
Rain will not stop this trip but, lightning and thunder will. There needs to be no evidence of lightning and thunder for at least a half hour before the trip start, and if it moves in we will seek appropriate shelter.
Remember to dress appropriately as the water temp is 70-73 degrees.
Volunteers are advised to wear gloves, sunscreen, sunglasses, closed-toe shoes and clothes that they don't mind getting wet and dirty.
