Calling all flower children, wear your hippie tie-dye clothes and swim suits, beads, and peace signs, and drive your 70’s vehicles to pool and potluck party in Central Scottsdale. This event is cross-posted with many outdoor activities groups, so RSVPs here are not representative of attendance, which may be more than 100. If you've seen this post elsewhere, please sign up with only one group. Address and directions will be given to RSVPers 2 days before event.
Make this the best potluck spread ever by bringing a "quality" potluck dish, and BYOB (no illegal drugs, we expect folks to drink responsibly, and not drive home if they are impaired. You can sleep at the house if you feel unable to drive.). "Quality" means no packaged cookies, bagged snacks, chips and salsa type of contributions. And please no veggie trays or grocery store-bought desserts (TJ & Costco OK), because they take up too much room on the potluck table and always remain untouched. Kudos to those who bring a main dish, BBQ meat to share. Crockpot plug-ins and BBQ grills will be available. If you are "potluck challenged" you can e-mail party hostess Julia, [masked] for suggestions of painless no-cook party needs to bring, instead of food.
We will have live 60’s and 70’s “oldies” music and open mike, courtesy of Darren Starwynn. So bring your musical instruments to play and sing 60’s, 70’s music for us. Woodstock soundtrack will be played.
Wear no sunscreen in the pool please. Party is outdoors and backyard will be fully shaded from direct sun. Unique landscaping was personally hand-constructed using recycled materials by the multiple award-winning architect of the “Scottsdale Greenbelt”, the vice-mayor and councilman who lived at this party house for 38 years.
Proceeds from $5 cover charge, after party expenses, will be donated to the Sierra Club.
