Our group has been invited to attend a Halloween costume party. The host, Rich, will be providing non-alcoholic beverages, some food items, games, music and the venue. A $2 admission is requested to cover costs. (Unfortunately, NO ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES are allowed. However, after the party ends we could always hit a local bar in costume and freak out the patrons...)
From the host:
This will be a Halloween party in the social hall of the Olivet-Schwenkfelder UCC. There will be a $2.00 fee to help defray costs, and it would also be appreciated if each guest could bring a snack item or two. I will provide something more substantial to eat (probably pizza) and soft drinks. The church prefers that no alcohol be brought in. Costumes are encouraged, but not required. The party will run from 8:00 PM until whenever.
When you arrive at the church, please
follow the driveway to the parking lot at the rear of the
building. Enter through the center door in the rear. Once inside,
proceed straight ahead down the hallway, until you come to a
short set of stairs to your left. The social hall is at the
bottom of the stairs. If anyone cannot go down the stairs, just
call out, and I can let you in the other door at the far end of
the social hall.
Once in the room, you'll exchange the $2.00 fee for your party
packet, which will include a name tag, costume contest voting
form, "Who am I?" game materials, and possibly other items.
Whether you like dancing or just listening to music, you should
enjoy the jukebox that will be available that holds tens of
thousands of songs. It will also feature karaoke capability.
Just see me at the party if you want to search the database for
any particular song or artist. If there is a song you feel you
really must have, let me know ahead of time. If it's not already
on the list, the rental company might be able to get it and load
it onto the machine.
The jukebox microphone also opens up other possibilities. For
example, if anyone would like a shot at trying stand up or sketch
comedy at the party, let me know by email and/or when you arrive
at the party. Depending on the interest level, I'll see what I
can do to fit you all in.
There will be the aforementioned "Who Am I?" game, and also "The
Werewolves of Miller's Hollow," a game of deceit, paranoia, and
betrayal. I will run multiple games of "Werewolves" to give
everyone interested an opportunity to play. The "Who Am I?" game
is scalable to any number of players.
