Clinics may be changed to a higher level for advanced riders depending on who signs up. The clinic format involves three aspects of cow working. Whether beginner or advanced they are as follows – Horsemanship, Cowmanship and Sportsmanship. Most people want to learn a specific discipline such as team penning, cutting, etc without understanding the rudimentary foundation for horsemanship and cowmanship. The clinic will teach individuals horsemanship skills on the ground and in the saddle necessary for working cattle. Where to be, why to be, how to be, when to be and what to do when you get there are the important factors of horsemanship in cow working. Secondarily, participants will learn psychology and zone-ology of cows in order to move them in a specific direction using pressure and release. The clinic is not fast and furious but aspects of speed can be added later once a good foundation has been laid for such things as cutting and fence work, and even roping if participants are qualified. Even people with former or current cow working experience will learn a new twist to things they may have overlooked which they will find out in this clinic. Participants will get a very valuable experience and have fun in the Peter Fuller Cow working clinics.
