Introduction

I am 28 yrs old and live close to York, PA where I am fortunate enough to now have my dream partner Epoch living on my farm. My goals are to simply enjoy Epoch and have fun with other NH horse enthusiasts. One of my ultimate goals is to be able to

Tell us about your PNH partner!

I bought Epoch when he was 14 months old. He is my first horse I've ever started and we've had a wonderful journey together! I'm fortunate enough to say I did all his training myself with no injuries! Now, he's 5 yrs old and this is the year when everything is really coming together for us. Epoch is a left brained introvert Appaloosa who is turning out to be my dream partner!

What level are you working in and where do you want to go?

We are working in Level 2 on the ground and in the saddle, although we are further along on the ground. We've attended two clinics in our area together and find it helpful to get out of the "same old rut" by attending one each year. I am not so much concerned with completing the levels, saying I have been assessed, etc, as much as I am loving discovering my horse more and more!

How did you come to PNH?

My journey to NH began when I purchased my first baby to bring up. Eagerly searching for all sources of how to prepare and start a young horse, I found info from many different NH sources. Then, I found Pat & Linda on RFD TV and have been hooked ever since.

Tell us your favorite PNH story!

In June, Epoch and I attended a Level 2 clinic with Kelly Sigler in VA. The facility had an indoor arena with a wall of mirrors. Epoch had never seen himself in a mirror before then and made it apparent! The first two times he passed the mirror, he did a sliding stop, turned into the mirrors, and neighed at himself with a beautiful pose! For the entire clinic, EVERY time he passed the mirrors, he grew a hand and at least nickered at himself! Needless to say, he had a great time!

What Amy Wherley is saying about this Meetup Group

Even if Natural Horsemanship is a bit foreign to you, definitely come because you will leave inspired! The attendees and staff are all like minded and it is a truly supportive, non-competitive environment for you and your horse. I cannot say enough great things about my experience at Willowbrook and after just one play day, plan to invest my money in lessons with Peter instead of all the clinics I've been attending. Check it out just one time for yourself and you'll understand!
