Intensity Run (10K)

For this week ONLY, I'm doing this on Fri instead of the usual Thurs night time, since the expaTRIés triathlon team info session/social night is this Thursday (you are all welcome, please come!) and I don't leave work early enough to start the run earlier so we can do it beforehand... Don't worry, we'll go back to the usual day and time next week, I promise! As an added Fri night bonus, there is usually a Yoga for Runners class right next to the champs de mars (12 euros, 1 hour-- 20h15-21h15), if you're interested in joining me for a quick yoga session after the run!

Meeting point is in front of the statue (of a monsieur Joffre) on the champs de mars opposite école militaire at 7:15 pm (19h15).

What's an intensity run?

An old classic training to help you understand how to listen to your body and pace yourself.

Very simple concept:

Running around the exterior of the Champs de Mars is approx 2km, we plan to do 5 laps, so 10km in total.

The first lap should be the slowest.

The last lap should be the fastest.

All too often people start out too fast, then can't hold it and end up making the last lap the slowest - which is often repeated in competition.

This training will teach you how to correctly manage your strength and stamina (if you keep it up for a few weeks).

We will all start together, but by the last lap (or maybe even 2nd or 3rd), you will be running on your own, so it doesn't matter what pace you currently have. If you feel 10km is too much, then just do fewer laps.

All paces and abilities welcome!

We will finish in the same place we started, and if not too cold / rainy / SNOWING, we can do a few stretches.
