Intensity Run (10K)

Come get your heart rate up on a Valentine's Day evening run! I'll just dim the lights along the Champs de Mars and make the Eiffel Tower sparkle for that special 10K in your life... Or the less romantic version is that it's training as usual! :)

Meeting point is in front of the statue (of a monsieur Joffre) on the champs de mars opposite école militaire at 7:15 pm (19h15).

What's an intensity run?

An old classic training to help you understand how to listen to your body and pace yourself.

Very simple concept:

Running around the exterior of the Champs de Mars is approx 2km, we plan to do 5 laps, so 10km in total.

The first lap should be the slowest.

The last lap should be the fastest.

All too often people start out too fast, then can't hold it and end up making the last lap the slowest - which is often repeated in competition.

This training will teach you how to correctly manage your strength and stamina (if you keep it up for a few weeks).

We will all start together, but by the last lap (or maybe even 2nd or 3rd), you will be running on your own, so it doesn't matter what pace you currently have. If you feel 10km is too much, then just do fewer laps.

All paces and abilities welcome!

We will finish in the same place we started, and if not too cold / rainy / SNOWING, we can do a few stretches.

Hi - just to let you know I'll have to cancel as I've got a bit of an arch injury on my foot and I don't want to make it any worse. Hopefully I will be able to join you soon.

Please note that this is at 7:15 pm (some folks have said that it's posted as 9:15, but for me it displays 7:15 pm).
