Saturday at the Races has been designed with three principles in mind:
- All training is done at Champ de Mars so no one gets dropped.
- All training will include an advanced session (higher pace) and a beginners session. Advanced runners are welcome to attend the beginners session to build fitness.
- A race segment will be included in each session to get the competitive juices flowing.
Session 2 of 8: Negative Split
Run like the pros. Triathlon pros run the second half of the run leg faster than the first, to acclimate to the run and to manage their energy to go the distsnce. This doesn't happen by accident, they train for these negative splits. We will fo a 2k warmup, a 4k endurance pace, followed by a 4 k race segment. Coolfoen or stretch on your own.
Bring an "emergency" gel in case you run out of energy or want to smash a race segment. Bring a couple of euros for an after run cafe stop for some comraderie if you have the time.
