Training with the Teams-- Running Intensity (10K)

Please note that start time is now 7:15, due to popular demand!

Meeting point is in front of the statue (of a monsieur Joffre) on the champs de mars opposite école militaire.

What's an intensity run?

An old classic training to help you understand how to listen to your body and pace yourself.

Very simple concept:

Running around the exterior of the Champs de Mars is approx 2km, we plan to do 5 laps, so 10km in total.

The first lap should be the slowest.

The last lap should be the fastest.

All to often people start out too fast, then can't hold it and end up making the last lap the slowest - which is often repeated in competition.

This training will teach you how to correctly manage your strength and stamina (if you keep it up for a few weeks)

We will all start together, but by the last lap you will be running on your own, so it doesn't matter what pace you currently have, if you feel 10km is too much, then just do fewer laps.

All paces and abilities welcome!

We will finish in the same place we started, and if not too cold / rainy, we can do a few stretches.

We just grab a coffee and speak French. Some people have been coming every week for months... it creates a kind of warmth to the group.
