Saturday at the Races has been designed with three principles in mind:
- All training is done at Champ de Mars so no one gets dropped.
- All training will include an advanced session (higher pace) and a beginners session. Advanced runners are welcome to attend the beginners session to build fitness.
- A race segment will be included in each session to get the competitive juices flowing.
Session 3 of 8: Hill Simulator
Decided sprint session was too much for those who are going to run the Boulonge Semi on Sunday, and definitely too much if you are going to run the Kilt and Krawl. Therefore, we will do a hill simulator. The purpose of this is to learn a proper recovery after a hills, too many runners take too much time to recover after a hill and forget to push the pace back up. So . . . we will do a 2k warm up, a 2k "hill" (race segment) + 2K recovery/run pace, followed by another 2+2.
Bring an "emergency" gel in case you run out of energy or want to smash a race segment. Bring a couple of euros for an after run cafe stop for some camaraderie if you have the time.
We meet at the statue in front of the Ecole Militaire.
