Election night nail-biting!

EVENT UPDATE - November 6, 2012

There has been a slight change of plans for tonight's event!

As it turns out, the Palais Maillot isn't opening for the event until about 10:30pm.

We will still meet starting at around 9pm, but will be in a different location until 10:30pm.

If you arrive before 10:30pm, please go to Le Standard, which is just up the road from the Palais Maillot in the Palais des Congres.

If you arrive after 10:30pm, please go directly to Palais Maillot as originally planned.

Lastly, please note that there are expected to be A LOT of people there tonight and the line to get into the Palais Maillot may get long at times. So, the earlier you arrive at Palais Maillot (after 10:30), the better!

See you tonight!

Oh, also, if anyone is interested/willing, I've been asked by the event host (Young Democrats in France) if any of us could come help with some set-up for the event. I think it's mainly hanging up balloons and streamers and such. The YDF person will come meet us at Le Standard and be looking for volunteers at around 9:30pm to go over and help. Everyone is welcome and invited to help set up, but no pressure if you'd prefer not to.

Is everyone on pins and needles?! The polls haven't even opened yet in the US and I'm already anxious to see the results. I'm glad I'll have all of you to stress out with! When you arrive tonight, look for the group wearing small US flag stickers (and get one of your own to wear for the evening). You should have also received an email from me with my phone number in it if you need to call to find us. I plan to get there around 9pm and will be there until the election is called one way or the other.

If for any reason your plans have changed and you won't be able to come, PLEASE UPDATE YOUR RSVP ASAP!

I'm looking forward to seeing you all tonight!

Hi All! Our venue has made a very fun request - they need a playlist of American songs for the night! :) Although they tend towards dance music, they also want to make sure they are meeting the musical needs of us Americans on election night. So, what are your ideas for music to be played? Born In The USA by Bruce Springsteen, Empire State of Mind by Jay-Z and Alicia Keys, what else....??? All ideas are welcome!

Hey Guys! I was only in Paris for 10 days in July, but still keep up with all your activities. I live in Miami and I'm working on President Obama's campaign. I will be nail biting on Tues. We are promoting early voting this week. Thank you so much for posting the early vote info! Merci!!!
