Laura may-[masked] in costs -[masked] in entries =[masked] LOST and that I will spend the next ten years paying and all because of errors and problems that arose for which i am not responsible in acts. The fb page was taken down because of some comments that could have caused problems for the people that carelessly, erroneously ( and cruelly i might add) wrote them as they were legally libelous. When we started the vegan business in Paris 5 years ago - there were almost nobody overtly saying they were vegan, none of the groups with minor exceptions were, there were no events of note , no books etc. The Paris Vegan event forced people to come out of the closet or simply to make up their minds and made the word known among the mainstream and that has been its most important success. The lesson i have learned is that taking risks , trying to change things is never a tidy business , but must be done nevertheless.

Hi Mary, After the event we sent a letter to everyone apologizing for the mishaps and during the event , i could not have been more apologetic. After one has apologized to hundreds of people, all there was to do was to try to make it up which is slowly but surely what I am doing.

And again, I am very sorry for the money lost, I am aware of some of the issues that arose. Let's start a kickstarter, a fundraiser to help and I would gladly contribute, but one cannot decide that individual participants should unwittingly pay for this, regardless of your impact on veganism in paris, this is completely moot. And seriously, I messaged you countless times about these cooking classes. A simple 'due to the huge losses incurred from issues out of our control at the event, we may not be able to reimburse you for the cooking classes and apologize for this' would have sufficed.

Would be nice to one day hear something about those cooking classes some of us paid for... It's been over half a year.

as big, I know all about the amount of work put in. I too work 7 days a week, and have also given much of my time to a variety of causes. And by the way Deborah I was part of the people who defended the event afterwards and what a great opportunity it was despite limited means, before the facebook event page was taken down. I continue to support this event and recognize the tremendous work that went into it but I don't think it's too much to ask for, to get some clear communication on this particular issue, especially when I contacted you numerous times about it.

Paris Vegan Day has always been a non profit event. The Gentle Gourmet has also been its major sponsor from the beginning , paying anything from 25-60% of the event.
