How long have you been knitting, crocheting or spinning?

I'm more a knitter than crocheter. I picked up a pair of knitting needles for the first time at 8 years old and in the past few years been more heavily into it. In school I have a focus on embellished knits, often hand-knits.

What else do you love besides knitting?

Besides knitting I love textiles arts amongst hand embellishment and embroidery. I do a lot within the young Jewish community of New York and work within programming for that. I been teaching a senior citizen knitting class in the housing projects of LIC and have really taken to teaching the craft.

What do you want most out of this group?

I would love to meet people who loved the craft as much as me. I have some friends that knit/crochet but not many. I would also like to network in this knitting/crochet community.

How would you describe your knitting/crochet style? (i.e. monogamous or multiple projects on the needles; a process knitter or product oriented)

My room doubles as a studio space for everything fashion design orientated. I have boards with swatches pinned upon swatches. I like to work on one thing at a time but sometimes will have two projects going on at once. I won't typically knit from a pattern - because I'm studying design. I will usually try to make my own pattern for whatever garment I'm working on. Lastly, most projects aren't considered finished unless uncrushed in embellishment.

Tell us about your current project(s)...

Currently, I'm not working on a large scale project. I've been practicing my crochet. One of the lovely ladies in my knitting class struggles to hold two needles just because of problems in her hands so I have been practicing my crochet so I can help her along as much as possible.
