World Wide Knit In Public Day (WWKIP) - Sunday June 13th - Grand Army Plaza Library
Thursday, May 13, 2010 4:39 PM
SAVE THE DATE - SUNDAY JUNE 13TH 1-5PM - GRAND ARMY PLAZA LIBRARY
It is that time of year again! Time for WWKIP Day! Join your fellow Brooklynites (and some other NYCers who realize Brooklyn is the place to be for WWKIP Day) and be part of a global celebration of fiber crafting. Bring your knitting out of the meetup and into the light! It is great fun to meet everyone and share stories and realize that people all over the world are doing the same thing.
We'll be celebrating at the plaza outside Grand Army Plaza Library. There will be a band and many fiberly things raffled off throughout the day. There will also be tables for learning - both knitting and crocheting, with plans in the work for a special Family Table this year to help kids learn to knit and crochet. And there will be a table to get more information about the newly formed Brooklyn Yarn and Fiber Guild, a great new resource for fun and info for everyone!
Come be a part of the festivities!!!
If you are interested in teaching folks to knit or crochet, feel free to stop by one of the tables and hang out, we can always use people to help out. If you have any extra yarn lying about that would be good for beginners, please consider donating it. It must be worsted weight (to go with our donated needles) and smooth - no fun fur or glittery bits hanging off! If you'd like to contribute some yarn, please bring it to one of the next 3 Thursday Evening meetups and I'll pass it along to the folks organizing the learning tables. Thanks!
